Services
ArchLab can assist all stages of archaeological projects – from study design to data interpretation. We offer multiple services, ranging from on-site visits for guiding archaeological explorations to analytical tools, advanced dating methods and skilled artifact analysis.
Our services are divided into three support tiers that vary in the degree of intensity regarding the involvement of ArchLab and the arising fees.
We also provide analytical services to archaeologists working at universities, museums and companies.
The speciality of ArchLab is that in addition to single analyses, we also offer a multiproxy analysis – where the combined data from many sources helps to paint a more detailed picture of natural and archaeological sediments and prehistoric environments.

Our support tiers
Self Service
Use the Resources displayed on our website as help.
Assisted
Get into contact with us and we will advise you on your questions.
In-depth
We will be directly involved in your project and collaborate with you.
With increasing user interaction the arising fees also increase. Occasionally we can also visit a site free of charge if there is an opportunity to test or calibrate a new method or analyze a site for its potential for implementing an existing method in a new context or with new users.
If you’re unsure about the costs or what support you need or you want to place an order, you can contact us here.
Down below you can find examples of what services are available within the three tiers during different stages of your project.

Analytical themes
In addition to single analysis, we also offer multiproxy analysis – where the combined data from many sources helps to paint a more detailed picture of natural and archaeological sediments and prehistoric environments.
Learn more about the multiproxy down below.
The multiproxy
Archaeological data tend to complement each other and can add more layers of knowledge for the interpretation of the past. The results from one method also add insights where preservation conditions for one type of data is lacking. For example, insects provide information about environments beyond that which pollen from wind-pollinated plants can provide. Vice versa plant macrofossils provide information about the use of plants where the presence of pollen is limited. By the addition of multiple layers of archaeological information, the modelled past offers a wider view of the past and paints a picture with more detail.
If you want to use multiproxy analysis for your project or need support you can contact us. Our experts can discuss and advise on the most appropriate sampling strategies and analysis combinations for all projects. Contact us here.
