The Tandem Laboratory (Radiocarbon dating)
Function: Isotope analysis, mainly 14C and associated stable isotopes (13C and 15N). Sample assessment and preparation for archaeological materials. Tandem lab operates in close collaboration with Lund 14C -unit, providing the ArchLab accelerator infrastructure for 14C-dating. The units cooperate in the development of sample preparation protocols and calibration and chronologies for accurate dating.
Equipment: MICADAS compact tandem accelerator system for 14C-analysis. 4 compact spectrometers for stable isotope analysis, 4 elemental analysers, 3 AGE3-systems for automatic graphitization, 2 tabletop XRF-systems
