Function: Luminescence dating of sediments, pottery and other materials containing the minerals quartz or feldspar, mainly by optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating or infrared stimulated luminescence (IRSL) dating. Relative dating and material characterisation with luminescence profiling (portable OSL). Development of luminescence dating in archaeology, support for sampling and for interpretation of results, assessment of sample and result quality.
